The ESC in normal mode is a complete nanny. Put in sport mode and it's really cool to see the car fighting to retain control and does an impressive job of it.
Turn it off entirely and some shenanigans can be had.
Try driving the eSBR 800 without the ESC and safety electronics! It's crazy!
I love doing that.. Can fling that thing all over doing mad burnouts
It seems like most cars struggle to lose control when you turn hard and brake with traction control off
Most factory suspensions are tuned to understeer.
Because braking is not related to stability control. ABS is a Differenz system
When you brake before a turn it shifts the weight to the front tires and gives the back tires less traction.
That‘s true. But modern abs is able to recognize slip to rear wheels and stabilize them to some extend.
this isn't even a modern car thing, this is the purpose of the brake proportioning valve which is responsible for sending more braking pressure to the wheels with the most grip (the front) since the car dives forwards and loads the front wheels under braking.
ABS will help of course but automobiles have had ways of managing this problem for decades
What is the "Caged" ESC mode?
I think it's like the valve on the exhaust is closed but other than that it's comfort ESC, it's quieter than any of the other modes.
It also disables the supercharger if you have one installed.
Aka no thanks
It’s like Valet mode on a Hellcat
the irony here is that its understeer-y as all hell
i think its the assists it has, i wanted to make it slide (sport config) and it just started braking to stop the oversteer
It feels like it has some understeer even with the assists off
The solution to that is to make the rear suspension stiffer than the front.
Even with it off it still feels like I’m wrestling a yacht around the track. It’s not like a Dodge Charger corners all that well anyways
Yep that was the first thing I noticed!
Definitely has some understeer but laying off the gas when rounding a corner helps ALOT!
Guess I'm not going crazy after all.
Well, it’s still an American musclecar that weighs around two tons. It’s quite realistic if you ask me.
There is a adaptive power steering under stering of the car. Anybody try it? It feels like the car is driving itself.
A lot of (if not all) the cars in the game have power steering and I think it makes the cars more realistic (if you turn the ffb up) so idk why it’s not added by default.
As long as we're turning this into a "what needs fixing" thread, even the race brakes will start to fade way too early.
Also nice meme OP
In general the brakes on some trims are just junk. If they can work out brakes and maybe add some bigger tires/better tire options it'll be golden.
I think the problem is that the rear brakes aren’t doing anything. The brake balance is terribly front biased by default. And, of course, it’s no go-kart in terms of weight.
There is a mod called Godmode brake pads. They never fade
I drove the Luxe 5.7 AWD for about 8 minutes like a normal person for once and it started having bad brake fade after like 10 minutes of driving, smoke, squeaking and all that
oops, forgot to remove the wheel well from the original pic
Ironically it understeers like crazy
swapping fwd drivetrain to this car makes it hilarious
I now know what I need to do when I open the game next time
Yes I'm getting real tired of the default crossplane v8 sound. It would be great to have a variety of sounds for each engine type but I guess that's a lower priority for them. I hope we see (hear) that at some point though
Ah yes the V6 that sounds like an I6. Heck even the regular I6 sound isn’t great imo, it’s not raspy enough. Although yeah the current V6 and cross plane V8 sounds really don’t fit the Bastion.
I remember when all cars sounded like a vacuum cleaner
I can’t believe they didn’t have custom sounds until like, what was it, 2017 maybe? I can’t remember
I love how the exhaust note changes with different modes.
I love the fact that you can disable the Supercharger on the Demon by going into the caged mode.
Btw, you get 1 bar of boost in the Comfort, Sport and Drift mode and 1.2 Bar when you turn off the Esc or go into Savage mode
Can you please explain to me the differences between all the esc modes? Iv been playing for a long time but still dont quite understand them
They mainly change the way the Traction control works as far as i know
Alright. I want to know if I’m the only one here. It’s a beautiful beast BUT what’s up with the crumple zone? It’s a new, modern car. I crash tested it and let’s just say it didn’t do well. The entire dashboard absorbed into the front seat and the steering wheel pointed up to the heavens lmao.
How fast were you going lol. If you crash at 45 mph the car seems fine
I played it again and a crash that encompasses the entire front end seems to do OK at 45, but when you start to add in the small overlap/offset, is when things go downhill. It’s not terrible, but for a brand spanking new car, it caught me off guard. I’m comparing it to the Vivace which is a smaller car with a shorter front end, and still manages to hold up far better than this one. Hell I can crash the Vivace going 75 and it holds up similarly to this new one at 50. Not hating on the car, it’s gorgeous, I was just surprised.
isnt the vivace supposed to be a 2020 model while the bastion is 2015?
Yeah the Vivace is a newer car built to higher safety standards, and it’s lighter so there is less weight stopping in an impact. However the Vivace seems to be almost unrealistically strong with what it is
Yeah sorry, I didn’t realize that the Vivace was actually newer. That would make sense
It’s ok the Bastion looks quite new
You know what, I didn’t realize that until you pointed it out. That would explain it! Thanks
I think the next thing they need to focus onto is ABS and ESP.
Form my expirience, ABS turns on too much and the flashing lights when braking is annoying. ESP is the same. It kicks in too soon and too much.
Generally cars feel like they don't have grip unless you put race tires on them.
I've driven my fare share of cars and been a passenger in many of them and ESP doesn't kick in 98% of the time unless you really fuck something up by driving. ABS also, unles there is really strong braking, like 150km/h to 30km/h ABS won't turn on unless you have shit tires and not grip.
Other than that, I love the new car and the new Bolide. The Group 4 Homologation is my favourite by far.
ESC varies a lot by car IRL.
I've had cars that let the rear end go a bit before the ESC beeps at me and does its thing (MX5 ND, Honda Fit) and others where the slightest slide results in the ESC killing all power (Toyota products)
that's why there is realistic ABS and the other. though I prefer realistic settings. but yeah, the ABS feels like it's not doing much. I can brake faster by just downshifting whole braking without ABS.
I have everything set to Realistic in settings.
This is true in real life. ABS causes braking time to be slightly longer, it just keeps you in a straight line, and allows you to steer while braking so you can avoid obstacles, like pedestrians or deer suddenly walking in front of your car. Same in racing. You stop quicker threshold braking and downshifting. You don't actually want to activate the ABS. It works as designed in this game.
Does anyone else love the V6 TT? Its so sick!
Yes! Running it without exhaust pipes sounds incredible!
Sounds terrible IMO. Extremely raspy, worse than a Vstraight pipe VQ. Then again you probably like the sound VQ engines
Yea, I like the V6 sound. Pretty unique to the game I think.
Oh ok, it is true the game has different sounding v6s
Get this beast on the cage.
I can confirm that whoever wrote that is a god damned liar.
The V6 is pretty quick
Yeah the car understeer a a bit but that’s acceptable in an over 4200 lb car. However the Battlehawk and especially the Redtail have too much power so even with ESC on it’s unpredictable which is why I think the 5.7 Sport and 6.5 GT Sport are the best ones
i find it crap to turn without making the rear wheels lose a bit of traction first or just be at slow speed
The only real problem I have is that the suspension is made of leftover spaghetti from last night. Even the slightest jump wreaks havoc on the steering. Hopefully it gets fixed in a hotfix
Just like the Dodge Demon, this car has an 808hp variant that is slow af. That's why I really like it.
did you turn off the caged mode
So you consider a 10.5 - 10.8 1/4 and a Top speed of 350 KMH ´´slow af´´? I think it has the highest Top Speed of any Production Car in the Game
Even the Bolide Top speed variant?
highest Top Speed of any PRODUCTION Car
The Bolide Top Speed variant is Custom Made
