I’m looking to get a 300zx (z31), and I’d love to learn more about them. Is there anything I should be worried about?

i had a naturally aspirated 1986 z31 for a year, very fun to drive and surprisingly quick. not sure if this was just my particular car but doing any kind of repairs was way difficult because every screw, bolt etc was stuck and almost impossible to get loose. 1 hour jobs turned into 6 hour jobs just because of that pretty regularly. also the engine bay is pretty crowded compared to an older datsun so that’s also a hassle to work with. basically it was a difficult car to work on but the stuck hardware issue might just have been unique to mine. highly recommend the car even with that issue

This has been my experience on Nissans too. None of my Datsun’s are like that, but while working in body shops, it seemed like most nissans had over torqued bolts.

Thanks for the info I’ll keep that in mind for any future purchases/projects

I had an 85. Had the digital dash, automatic and non-turbo. Was pretty sluggish. Hard to find parts for them. You're gonna be under the hood a lot, I was at least. They're beautiful cars though. [300zxpartsforyou](http://www.300zxpartsforyou.com/) is where I bought all my parts. He's finds 300ZXs and parts them out. Lifesaver if you have these cars. Good Luck!
