Bono's son says his dad helped 'open a lot of doors

It opens a lot of doors for his mates too. I hope they're his mates in the band and not folk just using him for the connections his dad has. How do you tell?
I think one of the only ways to tell if someone is a true friend is to see how they behave when times are tough.
The pandemic was a great test. It threw a wrench into their debut as a band.
They’ve been friends since they were young. Don’t think children care about famous dads that much.
You can have all the opportunities in the world, but if you don’t have some talent to capitalize on them it won’t matter.
He touches on this in the article, "It has definitely allowed a lot of doors to be opened but I think those doors shut just as fast because some people may have pre-biases to the band."
Glad they’re owning it but it’s not like they had any choice. This doesn’t change anything.
Also helped Eve Hewson to become an actress since when she was old enough, she went to stay at Sean Penn's house in LA. Most aspiring actors are waiters and bartenders sharing an apartment 2 to a room.
Kinda the same with Jordan. However John has a pretty low profile. I think he was in a band but no idea what he does.
He does a bit of photography if I'm not wrong
No use in denying it. Of course he did. They are one of the most highly played bands on rock radio today, not that it's unearned but just fair to acknowledge. Can't wait for tour!
I just don't think the band is particularly good.
REALLY???? I would never have guessed that the worlds biggest rockstar could or even would open doors for his son! What amazing insight!
I recommend reading the article before making a snarky comment. He doesn't claim to be the first to say this.
I read it. What difference does it make if he doesn’t claim to be the first one to say it? It’s a stupid statement. He hasn’t had to struggle one second of his life. He’s never had to worry that if his music career fails, he’ll starve or go homeless. And as a result Inhaler’s sound is generic and the songs are boring.
Doubtful. It's not stupid. Him saying it means he is acknowledging and owning up to his privilege. If he denied or diminished his privilege and claimed his success was all him THEN that's stupid.
I guess the struggle will always be for him is people talking sh*t about him because of his privileged upbringing and saying he doesn't deserve any credit. I mean, it'd suck for people to say any success you get is unearned.
What a struggle, the poor poor man. You should arrange for a vigil. And what people say is right, he doesn’t deserve the success he has. Life isn’t fair, it never will be. When you’re born the son of a massively talented and successful billionaire, you’ll never escape that shadow. He might want to consider the Bruce Wayne approach and fight crime.
Actually, since he doesn’t have to worry about finances, maybe that frees him (or them) to be more authentic. He’s definitely not in it for the money. And since it’s the job most likely to keep him in his dad’s shadow, that’s cause to avoid it. I’d say that means he must actually be pretty passionate about music.
Breaking news: water appears to be wet.
Water isn't wet, it makes other things wet.
I’d say all of them, by the sound of their single!
Does he have carpel tunnel syndrome? Why does he need help opening doors? /s
