I highly recommend the UGA meat sale. The Meat Science dept posts what they will have available on their Facebook page. ([https://www.facebook.com/UGAMeatScience/](https://www.facebook.com/UGAMeatScience/)).
Their selection varies by season and availability. It's not cheap **cheap**, but it's also not super expensive and the quality (from what I have experienced) is great.
Google "Carniceria Costa De Jalisco 2"! It's a Hispanic grocery store on barber street and has a full butcher counter and I was pretty happy with their prices and quality
The UGA meat sale is open until 4 today (Friday). Absolute best answer to this question. They're only open 10-4 on Fridays during term. Get there earlier rather than later on game weekends.
Ah, the elusive "your dad" joke. Kudos on having the balls to pull that one off.
... Which, coincidentally, is exactly what I said to your dad the other night.
Kroger on the West Side will have discounted meats and fish the day of or day before their sell by date. If you have room in your freezer, I highly recommend browsing there once or twice a week (mid mornings, 9-11am).
If you want to ride to Winder, Quality foods has about the best meat prices around. Pretty much a bare bones grocery like out of the 70's but good meat at a cheaper price.
Have to shout out Harris Meats in Homer, GA. I think you get really good bang for your buck there. They have great package deals as well if you’re looking to buy a large quantity. The ppl there are very helpful and friendly
No love for Corner's Edge? I really don't know how they compare price wise, but for pork chops and sausages, they are the best. It's worth a dollar to eat better.

we go to bells for meats
Dude, Bell's is like a set from stranger things or something. It's literally a time capsule unchanged since 1984.
I didn’t know this was a thing and legitimately thought you were saying Bealls (like the department store) and couldn’t tell if it was satire.
They have a lot of cuts that you won’t find on the shelves at Kroger and Publix too.

This was the place I was looking for! Came here with a friend a couple years back and never got the name of the place. Thanks!
Also, I believe Los Compadres on Prince also has an inexpensive meat counter.
Yupp los compadres is great. Also on Jefferson road there is a large grocery store with some of the best tacos in Athens!
Aldi's prices are usually pretty good.

If you don't mind driving to Winder or Commerce, Quality Foods has really good meat prices and decent cuts.

Your dad is pretty cheap.

Trader Joe’s prices are pretty good too. Some of the Mexican groceries have good quality and reasonably priced meats too

Thighs are far more forgiving (and delicious) for grilling than chicken breasts.

Earth fare deli has deals pretty often
That's my go-to for the prime Ribeyes that are always on sale.
If you want CHEAP, go to Aldi's. They have fairly good quality stuff too
Earth Fare has some serious deals all the time. I'm more for the local butchers but if you need a good deal check out Earth Fare.

Also locations in Commerce and Hartwell.

>Corner's Edge Yep, I have never been let down by them.
