Historic campus (where the arches are) is nice if you want kinda a picnic in the city feel. But for quiet places I agree with Ben Burton and Botanical Gardens. Also check out memorial park!

I would say either the Greenway behind Mama's boy on e broad or Ben Burton Park. I've had picnics at both and enjoyed both locations

dudley park is convenient and spacious enough
we picnic and see others picnic here all the time. relatively quiet with decent people watching and nice open space
