MTX is what keeps this game alive. As much as I hate microtransactions, I understand that they are optional from a user standpoint but are a necessary part of being a free-to-play game.

Activision does not want that. As this game runs on the Unity game engine, I asked the devs a few years ago if they can make a PC/ Console port of this game and just remove the mobile part because the base game and even the servers are already there. The devs said they could do it but they don't have any plans for this right now and I assume Activision does not want this to happen lol.

If you all think this is not in the main game on purpose you are just naive at this point.
OFC they could implement some basic quality of life like this one but the greed at Activision is just so insane that they think making a good, polished game is a bad business move because nobody would buy the next one, but that simply isnt true.
OG MW, MW2, MW3, Bo1, Bo2 were the peak of COD and guess why, they were good, polished and complete games.
Im sure the devs would love to release a good game but the higher ups at Activision are restricting them to release a game barely good enough, and people still buy it every year because they are addicted/love the franchise.
I really hope all this BS ends one day so the devs that worked hard on the game can deliver a full complete finished product at launch
I don't think it's even greed, the heads at IW either:
* Don't want people minmax number crunch meta chasing because they want stuff to feel mysterious and less 'solved'
* Want people to go online and engage with community content to discuss builds
You can tell from interviews that they don't like the direction of modern games where people have everything figured out. They want players to explore and experiment.
Both MW19/22 seem like they're trying to emulate the 360 era when everyone was bad and dumb and people would equip placebos because they heard it did more damage or some shit.
Which seems weird because everyone just goes on social media and copies the latest meta slave build anyways.
Been working out of town the last few years. I have more fun on mobile than I do normal cod. Best guns and maps, ranked is a little wack but scrims are fun as hell
Straight incompetence over at IW in comparison
They need to give the mobile team control over the entire franchise.
except for the MTX team.

Yeah I understand that, but the way it’s handled in CoDM is straight up criminal.
