Ok ok, I got it yall 😂😂 I might skip the next oil change and flush the winter air for summer air and then -
Naw imjk, I gotchu, thanks for the replies yall, and yes I’ll be checking the power steering fluid and topping off. Gonna be taking the phat L and say I did not know that it was common sense to not go full lock out with the steering (just tap and go at max as a user said), the Miata was the first car I’ve owned that I never knew this applied to (RIP to the health of all the other cars I drove).
Also I plan to take this beaut’ to the Mavis Tire and Brake shop in Cambridge MA for alignment + rotation, any suggestions or recommendations on what shops are yay or nay ? (local or not).
Go to Advance Tire in Kendall, they are really honest and fair. They might be a little pricier than a discount chain like Mavis but their mechanics are top notch.
Its the pressure spike from the puml when its at lock. The pump puts out its maximum assist and pressures at lock.
This is how you cause shit to break. Stop it, you should never need to use at locks for anything longer than a couple seconds.
your power steering pump is crying bc it wants a less abusive owner
Your poor power steering pump! Check the fluid level.
Good luck to this Miata.
Thats the power steering pump going, _"PLEASE DON'T DO THAT!"_
If it makes that awful sound, *why in the h3ll would you do that*?!?
It’s like people with ungodly knock sounds coming from their motor, revving it up, and asking what’s wrong.
Don't dry steer like this, it puts shitloads of pressure on your power steering pump. Always be in motion when steering even if it's just 0.5mph.
Omg STOP always try to be moving when steering and don’t just slam your wheel to the end like that. Poor car
jokes on you, I don't have power steering.
But like everyone else said most power steering pumps don't like going to max angle.
I get something similar when I slam the brakes on hard at 69mph
You would be screaming if it happened to you too.
Why do you still have power steering at all? Sissy
Thank you for a flashback
Flashback to what?
Belt is old or loose, power steering fluid is low, OR power steering pump is going out.
Belt squeal. Most likely needs a new serpentine belt.
You don’t want to hold the wheel at full lock, not good for the ps pump, touch the lock and back it off a bit.
Tighten the belt

Ask them to check for a power steering leak, where ever you end up taking it.
I've had this before, I fixed it by tightening the belt to the power steering pump
Power steering belt
The birds don't like wheels
Power steering aka whale sounds
Who goes lock to lock on flat while not moving? I'm surprised the pump seals are hanging on. Add some fluid and plz be nice to your sterring.
Also it could be along with the powersteering pump. It could also be the constant velocity joint aswell.

This is akin to the “if you keep turning the steering wheel it’s gonna break” alarm. My Camino does this and my solution is to not max it out lol
If you floor it full lock that pump will blow up
There’s a warning on my owners manual to not hold the wheel fully locked for more than 5 seconds due to possible PS pump damage.
Stop doing that.
Yea just dont do that
Pretty sure that's your powered steering pump, you'll burn it up if you keep doing that, be careful.
It’s the “never max out the steering” warning.
Your power steering pump screaming “STOP YOU ASSHOLE!!!”
Power steering bro
Is it just me or does that steering wheel turn waay too many times?
Buddy I don’t even cars and I cringed at this one
Sounds like a worn belt tensioner to me.
My car does that when the belt is a little loose try tightening it first then I would look at the power steering pump
That's your power steering pump crying for help.
Your power steering is crying for help
Don't do this..... Poor car.
