Cut a carbon frame for one of my Moblite7/Mob6 hybrids. More power, agility and flight time was a surprise. Had to tone the pids down a TON to get rid of trilling.

TacoDaTugBoat

Very cool. Can you take us through it?

Delrin

1.5mm carbon, quickie design and cut on my cnc router. Moblite 6 motors and FC with a Mobula 6 canopy. Ep2 expresslrs rx, iflight sigma vtx antenna. Emuflight 0.3.4. 40mm HQ props. Fairly aggressive cruising around the yard and over the house gets over 6 minutes on a 450mah.

ecco3697

looks like 40mm hq props, happy model ex802s, happy model diamond FC, runcam nano 3 in mob6 canopy, and that fancy antenna (the diamond FC doesn't have easy pads for soldering one of these, I wonder how they did it). Slip a nice 450mah in that sweet battery holder and punch it!

Delrin

Spot on. The antenna soldering isn't ideal but it works, gotta have some electronics safe silicone on the joint!

ecco3697

Super clean build! I imagine it's wicked fun to fly, I want some dvr footage!! By trilling do you mean the quad was shaking or the camera? Without some foam under the runcam 3 in the mob6 canopy I always get some camera shake when ripping it.

Delrin

Thanks! Yeah it rips compared to the whoop frame. Definitely the tune causing the trilling, you could hear it, and it almost wanted to flyaway on a fresh battery in acro. I have 48khz flashed on the esc's, I might try bidirectional dshot and the latest emuflight with rpm filtering. I tried rpm filtering on my other mobula in a whoop frame and couldn't really tell a difference, guess you need a stiff frame to see the benefits.

ecco3697

Does Emuflight have RPM filtering yet? I know they've been talking about adding it, but last time I looked there wasn't rpm support. Jsec 48khz rules. Love emuflight with mockingbird tune for my 75mm mobs :~)

Delrin

Shit I guess not, maybe I was thinking of BF4.3 which might handle tiny stuff better than 4.2.9. I started with the mockingbird tune on this one, flew great as a whoop but had to take 25% off all pids with the rigid frame.

ecco3697

Dang, it must be a beast!! What's it like having a frame like this cut?

Delrin

What do you mean? Do you want to buy a frame?

ecco3697

yes sir!

ecco3697

Just finished a 1S 3" twig build and it's insane. Makes me appreciate ducts, but the power is just on a different level. I'm really curious about your build. If you ever do another run of these frames I will pay generously for one or two!

Delrin

Got any specs on the twig? I just cut a V2 frame with revised FC mounting option for the 4 hole Mobula board and a way better battery mount setup https://imgur.com/a/CpNu8oP I could definitely cut a few more out if this one seems good.

ecco3697

Whoa!! The battery mount looks dope. I like the four hole design, awesome work! [Twiggy thing](https://imgur.com/a/XULzVwV) I based on the baby tooth but used a [Sensi 3](https://www.tinywhoop.com/products/sensi-3-frame) frame from Tiny Whoop. Flywoo Robo 1202.5 11500Kv Happy Model Diamond FC Bee Brain v2 Camera Mount Caddax Ant lite FPVCycle one Eachine Nano VTX (disabled the onboard vtx which wasn't working + got video out by bridging two tiny capacitors) Gemfan 3" huricane 8013 (slightly too big, I had to cut the props a little) NBD Nitro Nectar or Auline 500mah 1S This is my first quad without ducts!! Weighs 41g without a battery gets about 2:30-3mins on a 300mah. I don't have much to compare with, but it's blown me away. Has made me appreciate whoops for their safety and durability, but man can it soar! I love my 75mm moblikes. Would love to try one of these frames, keep us posted!!

Delrin

Here's some Dvr from today, on a crappy emax battery. Still working on the tune, might need some stiffer foam under the camera too. Super fun stupid little thing 😂 https://youtu.be/gtiUgJIC6S4
