The people getting upset about Unicorn are not the new people from what I have seen, it is largely the veterans.
I think most had gotten so used to the free drops being “trash” that it is kind of breaking their worldview to see one doing relatively well.
I just think it’s hilarious that the unicorn is everyone’s favorite like it’s some epic piece of art work. If they released 10 totally blank squares —it would be everyone’s favorite. Ppl would be whining they didn’t get a blank jpeg. It’s funny to watch
theres a large difference between recaps, WSB, and these avatars. WSB has randomized traits. Recaps have a very low pool of people who actually trade them within the community especially some of the rarer ones. This new rabbid drop is not random, has been traded VERY actively, and almost 100% will have all 500 on this sub somewhere. To say i dont have hogh hopea for its future is an understatement

My biggest mistake was sleeping on those WSB drops when i had chance to scoop of few degens there who offered it pretty cheap then .
I am surprised so many people are pissed and shitting on these free drops right now . I don’t know about orthers but Unicone Rabbid will be blue chip to hold one day .

Flipping the paid avatars in Gen 1 and Gen 2 was something else. It was like 10x profit minimum if you minted from the shop, and there was crazy volatility that was super fun to try to time a flip. Those were fun times.
Oh man I totally agree, the art is like almost objectively higher quality than Gen 1 and Gen 2. Some of my favorite avatar designs are from Gen 3.
But the same is true for Pokémon cards for example. 1st edition Pokemon cards have very basic art that is almost objectively not as good as modern sets, but it is still the classic set that is valued the highest.
