Rocktown! My former stomping grounds. Nice easy drive up from Atlanta. Although I never could get up the Orb : (
Nice send!
While I wouldn’t call it a dedicated destination spot, if you are in the Atlanta area go check out Boat Rock as well for a serious change of style : )
Not an attack on OP but, why is it that climbers always feel the need to wear hats when it’s always going to fall off anyway? I see this all the time, from my climbing partner as well, it just confuses me. I’m not a hat person though i guess
I wear hats to control my hair, mine usually doesn’t fall off. When it falls off my hair can blind me haha, so I was fortunate my hair didn’t attack my eyeballs here.

Boat rock is cool, but only if you enjoy rolling your ankles. Rock town…best camping and climbing combo that exists in the southeast
Coulda added +1 to the grade if you picked the hat up mid climb. nice send
That’s a truly burly climb. Definitely a Rocktown test piece. That area always has a crew camped around it. Nice send
The hat couldn’t make the send with you :(
Oh, the *other* southern sandstone.
The bulbous turtle-shell Southeastern sandstone (similar looking to Font) is so pretty. Such cool features
Nice work! Hats off to you, sir! Heh.
Nice! Also, +1 for dog
Nothing like warming up at the orb area and having 10 unleashed dogs running all over the place.
It beats 10 unleashed dogs running under the Heuco sim wall while a first time outdoors boulderer is 3/4 up Makin’ Waves
We had leashes but were the only ones surprisingly at the orb at the time. I understand what you are saying.
Controversial opinion there
Such an amazing climb
