didn't mind the grind. when they started sunsetting weapons and armors and got rid of 80% of the game was what turned me away. they have stopped sunsetting apparently but still don't think it's exciting to spend any money on expansions and stuff
I'd advise skipping it unless you're the sort that's willing to pay for games repeatedly.
That's part of what turned me off of it. They somehow got greedier than they were under Activision.
I play a ton of Destiny 2. I'm in the top 2% of hours played. Basically, it costs $8 per month to play now. If you want to play all the current content throughout the year, you have to buy the $100 deluxe edition of whatever the current expansion is. They claim they're trying to appeal to the more casual player base but none of the decisions they make point to that.
What's weird to me is I never see people complaining about games like wow being even more aggressively monetized. Like wow cost $15 a month plus you have to buy the expansion on top of that and wow consistently sunsets everything every year to my understanding. As well as even if you've spent $1000 on that game in the past couple years, as soon as you don't give them $15 for a single month you lose all access to all content until you pony up again. Maybe I misunderstand cause I've barely played wow at all but seems like destiny is a steal comparatively.
Different player bases are willing to put up with different things.
WOW is old and established. The primary player base for WOW has accepted their fate, as part of the deal for playing the game. They're more than happy with the current monetization scheme. The same company makes the Diablo games, and Blizzard doesn't charge Diablo players for use on their servers. If they did, Diablo would be a ghost town.
It's not even just that. Now the current season isn't included when you buy an expansion. Oh yeah, and now dungeons are a separate charge. They are milking the *hell* out of that game now.
Nah, the season passes are optional, and only have cosmetics and basic stuff you can farm in an hour or two on the anyway. The most worthwhile thing about them is the bright dust, and that's a hard meh. All the season activities and challenges are available without the pass, and dungeons/raids are all tied to DLC.
Other than that they sell DLC basically the same way every other company does.
Same, just the thing is: I buy every time the dlcs that get released but never play D2 lol, I tell myself "yeah am gonna play it soon or later let's buy it" ... meanwhile 3 years passed and I haven't touched it XD I think I finished Forsaken and left in the middle of Shadowkeep. Ofc am still gonna buy every DLC that will come
I love it when somewhat niche subs have insane rules for posting.
Like you're not Oxford university I'm not writing a fucking dissertation to post a picture of a toaster.
That car was genuinely awesome and was equipped with a transmission that has 4 gears in reverse. (Unlike the evo going in reverse at 100mph in f&f 2). Quite a sleeper.
Reminds me of the planned Amiga 1200 successor in a Hoover case.
(For those who do not remember: The Amiga Walker prototype https://amigaland.de/amiga-walker/
Zoom in, the execution is kinda rough. The idea is awesome though, and the humor is clear if you’re at all aware of the hardware. Or just around it for a few minutes.
Good taste, acceptable execution? Not sure that’s a subreddit.
If I do a gen 2 I will. This was made with a flathead, a glob of hot glue, and metal shears. Id love to do it proper in a larger toaster. Already had a button from old chassis.
Holy shit. In 2007 one of my D&D co-players built his own computers and had a water cooled beast of a tower that played Crysis on max settings (for you youngin's, that game was the reason game cards got so good so quickly that bitcoin became viable)
I occasionally jokes that his toaster could play Crysis. Thank you for posting this. A fkin 16 year old joke has an awesome real conclusion!
This reminds me of working at Silicon Graphics in the mid 1990s; there was a particular SGI machine that was known internally as the "power toaster." If memory serves it was [the SGI O2](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SGI_O2).
Ahhhh if you don't have the experience of working with IRIX and the Indigo Magic Desktop then you're in for a weird hybrid System-V/BSD UNIX treat. Near the end of my time at SGI they were literally just handing out Indy and Indigo2 machines (we called them "pizza boxes") to team members as they had already become deprecated. I ended up with an Indigo2 at home for several years, which I eventually sold to Halted electronics supply in the SF Bay Area.
For the release party of the O2 and Octane machines (IIRC this was shortly after SGI acquired Cray) they had a bunch of machines in the cafeteria hooked up to these huge displays, including low-level Cray supercomputers, running demos of Quake II. Was a pretty cool experience getting to see some of the world's most powerful computers just blast through Q2 in a brown blur.
Fancy PCs are a dime a dozen. Creative stuff like this is a lot harder to come by. Is it stupid? Totally. But it's weird as shit and the internet likes weird as shit.
r/destiny2 Jotunn users would like a word with you
OP's build is less of a fire hazard and probably better at toasting bread than Bungo's marked-up Aliexpress melty boi cash grab was.
Clang clang goes the noob tube.
I thought the noob tube goes thoomp
I miss destiny 2 but i haven't played in so long
I miss it, but it had so many issues.
The power grind is what turned me away, it doesn't even have a purpose any more as it's the higher levels of content are always gonna be 10-20 higher
didn't mind the grind. when they started sunsetting weapons and armors and got rid of 80% of the game was what turned me away. they have stopped sunsetting apparently but still don't think it's exciting to spend any money on expansions and stuff

think of all the McNuggets you could've bought with that than unused and overpriced dlcs of a game you never play >!/lh!<
I have done this exact same thing every DLC lol
Been a while since I've played, is Ticcu's Divination still a decent weapon for PvE?
R/shittypcbuilds sucks. Keep toastin’ man.
Needs more GTX 480. That toast will be charcoal in no time
More like the new RTX 4090 Ti FE (Toaster inside furnace edition)

My FX-5900 too, except it's LONG DEAD
You can use it to slice the bread
*7900xtx reference
Upon further investigation, the shittypcbuilds sub is dead as hell
I had two in SLI and holy fuck did my room get hot. Couldn't run the thing for long during the summer.
ahhh who needs central heating anyway. just run 2 480s in sli
Honestly though. My room was nice and toasty during fall and winter.
Why not four?
Oh god, you just triggered my PTSD, 4 way SLI GTX 480...
Seems also the last AMD 7900 make a very nice crispy toast..
And a AMD FX 9590
I have a 460 if that works, fucker can roast itself in no time.
To be fair... I don't think that's even REMOTELY shitty... Pretty cool actually!
I tried it and that subreddit seems to be unmoderated, why would they not let OP post this? Also someone could just request to moderate.
submissions are restricted to approved users and there are no mods to approve people
I love it when somewhat niche subs have insane rules for posting. Like you're not Oxford university I'm not writing a fucking dissertation to post a picture of a toaster.
I especially love it when it's r/witchesvspatriarchy or any of the right wing safe space subs. Echo chamber for days.
Isn’t that because this should have been posted in r/shittybattlestations ?
Add a shitty monitor and it would fit
Monitor should be a microwave door
No? That sub is for full setups, not a pic of a PC
Yeah fuck them bitches. r/pcmasterrace squad checking in
/r/mcpastarace and /r/shittybattlestations is the way
We don't discriminate in here !
But there is nothing shitty about this.

“Bro you are so shit at games? What do you play on, a toaster?”
Lmao reminds of fast and the Furious 8 when Vin beats a guy in an old POS jalopy and some Nos.

"Says someone on a console that's the same size as my toaster"
Hey guys, look, he gets the joke!
Well that's because it is not shitty.
Exactly. This toaster ain't shitty at all!
Thanks!
Well hang on now... Does it still make toast?
Open any Adobe Creative Suite software and you'll have yourself some toast. Don't keep it in for longer than a few seconds tho cause it burns fast.
It even got some RGB.
That might get a bit, *toasty*…

YEOWWWWWWWW
DUNNNNNN DUN DUN
Hahahahaha
TIL there’s a sub for shitty builds that I can browse that after shitty battlestations. Thanks, OP! And I think this is great. Specs?
Sub's pretty dead
I wonder why...
So let's bring it alive again!

Praise the Omnissiah!
The toaster has better specs than me GG
Does it make toast?
11th gen intel i7 so its possible
Found a good use for my old FX-9590!
Breadcrumbs aren't very conductive
They are once you turn them into carbon.
"this game can run smoothly on a toaster" The toaster:
Yep, you can actually game on a toaster, both figuratively and literally. 🤣🤣🤣
Well I mean, this is awesome so it doesn't belong on r/shittypcbuilds. Great job op
So maybe it's more "awful taste, but great execution"? r/ATBGE
/r/WeirdCases
Zoom in, the execution is kinda rough. The idea is awesome though, and the humor is clear if you’re at all aware of the hardware. Or just around it for a few minutes. Good taste, acceptable execution? Not sure that’s a subreddit.
Awesome Taste But Generic Execution
Just scrolled down a bit and they’re making fun of a perfectly fine Noctua themed Ncase M1 build. r/sffpc would be ashamed.
Irony is, on occasion, amusing.
Does it turn on when you pull down the toaster knob thingy(idk the name)?
It turns on with the "Toast" button, thats why its oddly pushed in.
I was going to ask, but then thought "no way he hooked up those buttons". Damn! Now convert the big knob to GPU OC profiles and make it go to 11.
If I do a gen 2 I will. This was made with a flathead, a glob of hot glue, and metal shears. Id love to do it proper in a larger toaster. Already had a button from old chassis.
Yes! Was just about to say. Nab a 4 slice toaster and you might be able to squeeze in that GPU
Beautiful
If that's actually a fully functional PC, it's not shitty. Indeed fricking cool.
Since people asked, heres it running: https://imgur.com/gallery/uKAcrRZ Not sure why someone would build a pc that does not function.
A toaster PC with a CRT, I think I found my next build
>Not sure why someone would build a pc that does not function. Making it all the less shitty.
I sent this to a couple of friends and they STILL don't believe it lmao, they're like the connection isn't clear, the guy is clearly a troll etc xD
I toast, therefore I am.
Would anyone like some toast?
Frakkin toaster.
Can't believe I scrolled this far for a BSG reference.
Definitely in r/SFFPC territory, right?
Yeah, guys will love him
Not sure about that one, got some very unhappy replies the last time I posted there.
Too awesome
Probably because it’s not shitty, it’s extremely creative and looks like it was a fun and exciting project.
Will the toaster side of it still function as a bath bomb? Asking for a friend.

It's unethical to build AI like a Cylon
Admechs be like
The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Hell
Reminds me of AVGN. "It's a Nintoaster. And yes, it works."
We can run crisis on a toaster now, what a time to be alive
I think there's a sweepstakes I ran here 8 years ago that you would have definitely won an NVIDIA duck for.
I think there's something wrong with your Cylon.
The adeptus mechanicus will monitor your career with conisderable interest
*mecha dendrites quiver with anticipation*
It's not shitty it's unique xD
That is a totally respectable "found object" mod!!! Fuckin love it!
Issa Cylon!
Frakkin cylons!
Holy shit. > Crysis on max settings the nostalgia.....
Now that's something I would take into the shower
> r/shittypcbuilds wouldn't let me post this so here you go Next time, **use a toilet**
Are the red LEDs a BSG reference?
I believe they're a toaster reference
A true work of art
10/10
So I can have toast while I play portal RTX?
*pushes level down* "BOMB HAS BEEN PLACED" Ack!
Could definitely run Linux on that toaster.
“A PC is just a death ray with a smaller power supply! As soon as I figure out how to tap into the main reactors, I will burn the world!”
"I am the boogeyman that keeps lesser PCs awake at night!"
Toaster with some extra rendering power for good texture
is that you mr hummus?
wdym shitty? This is awesome
Ik it's prob posted somewhere in the thread but here it is https://youtu.be/KW6cBRsyCWc
I wasn't bready for this; I loaf it.
So when the league of legends game takes ages to load and someone says in all chat who's playing on the toaster, you can say "me!"
Me in valorant asking who is playing on a toaster Meanwhile this guy:
The fuck is the point in r/shittypcbuilds if they won't let you post shitty PC builds on it? Reddit mods are a different breed.
I’m banning you from r/toasterrights.
Woah just think of it as a toaster with a supercharger blower out the hood.
Amiga users instantly shout “Video Toaster!”
Does it make you travel back in time?
iirc you need a microwave for that
Let’s get this crypto bread
Welcome to the club! I made this [grillputer](https://flickr.com/photos/aperson/3661186259/in/album-72157620435191975/) 13 years ago.
What. The. Fuck. You sick bastard.
Dude sorry
Show me a burnt toast to prove its shittiness.
This reminds me of working at Silicon Graphics in the mid 1990s; there was a particular SGI machine that was known internally as the "power toaster." If memory serves it was [the SGI O2](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SGI_O2).
I love SGI! My dream pc is to have like any one of them (probably Indigo2). Sadly I only own a SGI mousepad.
Ahhhh if you don't have the experience of working with IRIX and the Indigo Magic Desktop then you're in for a weird hybrid System-V/BSD UNIX treat. Thanks for sharing! Activates my legacy hardware nred neurons.
That isn't shitty that is a masterpiece
But.. this isn't a shitty PC build? This is amazing!
Next, make the bread slots optical drive bays or SATA hot swap bays
I have an itx nas so i could probably make that with less toaster abuse
Put a 4090 in there and you should be good enough to cook toast
The adeptus mechanicus would like to know your location to prey to the toaster.
Eggo 3000 😂
More /r/ATBGE than /r/Shittypcbuilds
Reddit when I post my nice build:.. Reddit when I cut a hole in a $1 toaster:⬆️⬆️⬆️ Ok guys, sure

You are a monster
>Build a PC >Store it inside a toaster >Make a rough tutorial (toaster gaming) >??? >Profit
You’re a bastard for this and I love it.

Scrooged’s ghost of Xmas present’s favorite PC build.
